When and where is the festival taking place?

The family festival is scheduled for Friday, June 27, and Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Candleston Woods, Merthyr Mawr, Bridgend.

Getting here:

ADDRESS: Candleston Wood Campsite, Merthyr Mawr, Rd, Bridgend, South Wales, CF32 0LS.

Follow the signs to the festival, go through Merthyr Mawr village, keep going until you see signs for General Car Park. You will be met by a steward and directed to a parking place (see car parking later).

Transport to Under the Stars: There are regular buses and trains to Bridgend, from the station take a short taxi ride to the festival site. Please note, due to the lack of mobile phone reception on site, remember to pre-book your return taxi journey to Bridgend if required.

What is the What3Words address for the site?

Will there be any road closures in place?

No, all roads will remain open.

What are the festival hours?

Gates open at 12:00 PM each day, and activities will conclude around 11:30 PM on both days. Please note that these times are subject to change, so check our website or social media for any updates closer to the event.

Can I be dropped off/collected at Under the Stars Festival in a car?

 Yes, you can, drop off areas are at the general car park.

Can I bring a gazebo or event shelter?

Camping plots are allocated for tent size only. Therefore, no space will be available for additional gazebos or shelters.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

No alcohol will be permitted on site unless bought from one of our official vendors.

Do the bars & traders take card payments?

Yes, they do.

What facilities are on site?

There are men’s, women’s and disabled toilets as well as washing facilities.

Is the site muddy when it rains?

Although it is a woodland site, it is on sand (part of an old area of sand dunes) so is effectively ‘all weather’ and free of mud and puddles after rain. No wellies required!

Is there Wi-Fi on site?

Yes, there is Wi-Fi service in the Forest Barn.

Is there mobile phone reception on the site?

Mobile phone reception is very poor to non-existent on the site, although phones that are enabled can use Wi-Fi calling in the Forest Barn. Alternatively, there is usually a reception on the road leading to the campsite.

Is there a separate area for Live-In Vehicles?

Yes, there is a designated live-in vehicle field near the main festival site. There are no power hook-ups. Please arrive from 10am on Friday 27th June 2025.

We only allow campervans that are 2.2m wide x 6m long due to the access road to the festival being narrow with passing places. If you think your campervan is on the large side or close to the limit, then please email fundraising@2wish.org.uk for advice.

We do not allow tents to be pitched in the Live-in Vehicles field due to safety reasons e.g., a reversing campervan may not see a small tent.

What size tent can I bring?

Please bring a tent that is of a suitable size for your booking. The maximum camping pitch for a family tent (4 person) is about 5m x 5m (25sqm) including guy ropes. If your tent’s footprint is bigger than 25sqm, please pay extra-large tent surcharge when booking your ticket.

Camping is inside the woodland in a defined area marked by posts. This is limited to 100 pitches and there is a 600m walk from the general car park to your pitch. Wheelbarrows will be available to help transfer your camping-gear or alternatively bring your own trolley.

How much do tickets cost?

A: Ticket prices vary by age and package. We offer single-day and weekend camping tickets for adults, teens, and children under 12. Visit our website for specific pricing details.

Do children need tickets?

Children under 5 can enter for free, while kids aged 5-17 require a child ticket. ages 18 and up require an adult ticket.

What if I can't attend? Are tickets refundable?

Unfortunately, tickets are non-refundable. However, you can transfer your ticket to another person if you're unable to attend.

When do I receive my tickets?

We use an e-ticketing system, you will not receive a paper ticket. A confirmation email will be sent to you when your purchase your ticket/s. Print out or take a screen shot and on arrival, please exchange your E-ticket for a wristband at the entrance.

Is there on-site parking?

Yes, parking is available on-site. There is a designated parking area for festival attendees near the main entrance of Candleston Woods. There is a 600m walk from the general car park to your pitch.

How much does parking cost?

Parking passes are £5 per vehicle per day or £10 for the weekend. Parking passes can be purchased online with your tickets or on arrival (subject to availability).

Are there accessible parking options?

Yes, accessible parking is available closer to the festival entrance. Spaces are limited, so we encourage you to reserve accessible parking in advance.

Can we camp overnight at the festival?

Yes, we offer overnight camping options for both Friday and Saturday nights! Camping passes are required and must be purchased along with your tickets.

Your camping reservation does not grant access to the festival, Event tickets must be purchased in addition to camping reservations.

How much does camping cost?

Camping tickets range from £100 - £150 depending on the size of your tent. Please visit the ticket section of the website to see exact prizes. You’ll need a separate camping pass for each tent.
